Wattisham Activity

Note from Wattisham Base:

Dear Residents of the Local Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a few recent incidents that have occurred in the vicinity of Wattisham Flying Station involving drones, flares, and other activities.

As you are aware, Wattisham Flying Station is an active military airfield, with a primary focus on our homebased Apache aircraft. Our usual hours of operation are Monday to Thursday from 08:30 to 01:30 and Friday from 08:30 to 18:00. However, due to operational commitments and training requirements, there are occasions when we may need to operate outside of these hours, although we strive to keep this to a minimum.

I kindly request that you take into consideration our activities and remain vigilant of aircraft presence when engaging in your own activities, including the use of fireworks, flares, lanterns, and drones. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated for the safety and security of all involved.

Should you have any questions regarding these activities or wish to inform us of any planned activities in the area, please feel free to contact me without hesitation.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

 Kind regards

Andy Warburton

Airfield Manager

Please note usual routine airfield operations are as follows:

 Mon – Thu         0830 – 0130 hrs

 Fri                     0830 – 1700 hrs
